
A leading manufacturer of aluminium parts for the automotive industry has decided to introduce production planning software at its plant. This should save time and reduce the laboriousness of the current of excel-based planning, which is primarily based on planner know-how. Logio was asked to provide independent expertise on whether the selected planning module meets the customer’s needs and whether the customer is sufficiently prepared for its implementation.
Process mapping has contributed to the preservation of planning know-how.
Based on the mapping and planning analysis, we identified gaps in the current process. We then examined whether the solution selected by the customer meets their needs and eliminates the identified problems. Thanks to our experience in Process Intelligence, we also supplemented the SW implementation schedule with the missing areas to avoid potential risks and delays for the customer during the actual implementation. This included, for example, the definition of a workflow for a new production and maintenance planning process for production equipment, Data Master Management or a detailed SW roll-out plan. Strojmetal is now ready for a smooth and successful implementation.
