Storage optimization – DHL
DHL is a logistic partner of the pan-European shoe-selling company Leder & Schuh (known in the Czech Republic under the commercial name Humanic) for which it provides with storage facilities and for which it handles distribution. DHL requested, a brief analysis of the storage processes in its distribution center, as well as verification of the productivity-enhancing proposals of its managers.

The design submitted by Logio included warehouse layout optimization and warehouse process standardization. An 8% increase in rack retriever productivity was the main benefit of the entire solution. This design featured effective layout of warehouse stocks based on their turnover, better organization of rack retriever work and, last but not least, updated operational warehouse management reporting. Following application of all recommendations proposed by Logio, the distance walked was reduced by 22%, which entails higher productivity and lower labour costs. Logio provided both long-term and short-term specific recommendations to increase storage process efficiency.
