Founded in Hanover in 1871, Continental is one of the 5 largest automotive suppliers in the world. Logio was invited to be involved in the processes of two companies operating under the Continental corporate umbrella, namely the Trutnov plant and Barum Continental.
It takes two minutes instead of the initial two weeks
to test the changes in production.
In both projects, it was primarily about a smooth start-up of production and setting up effective operational management. Thanks to the use of our dynamic simulation, we were able to verify all possible variants of the production line layout and the placement of workers on it. “Experiments” that would otherwise have taken weeks were carried out literally in minutes. We uncovered bottlenecks in the simulation model and took many factors into account, including the failure rate of the production equipment. All of this helped to ensure that the simulation results were true to reality. Thanks to the optimal production setup, we were able to keep to the production schedule, reduce fixed and operational costs, streamline internal processes and create a sustainable and improving production system in the long run.
